At The Terrace School, we want every student to feel a strong sense of belonging and to have the best possible start in their learning. You may have heard about the government's new goal to have 80% of students attending school regularly (attending more than 90% of the time).
To support our families, we’ve updated our Attendance Management Plan. We know that life happens—genuine illness, health needs, and bereavements are all times when staying home is the right (and justified) choice. Our plan is here to help when those absences start to stack up and potentially impact a student's progress.
How we’ll work together:
Letting us know: If your child is away, please ring the office before 9:00 am.
Checking in: If we haven’t heard from you, we’ll give you a call to make sure everything is okay and record the absence.
Early Support: If we notice a student has missed more than 5 days in a term, we’ll reach out. Not to "clip tickets," but to see how we can help your family get back into a steady routine.
You can keep an eye on your child’s attendance anytime via the HERO app. Just click on your child’s photo, and the "attendance doughnut" will show you their current percentage at a glance.
